Tandem @ DevLearn 2009

Tandem Learning will have a major presence at The eLearning Guild's annual DevLearn Conference at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose held November 10th-13th.

On November 10th, Koreen Olbrish will be running an all day Certificate Program entitled Strategies for Enterprise Learning in Virtual Worlds. In this session, you will learn:
  • The criteria for developing immersive learning environments
  • About the various virtual world platforms available for enterprise use
  • How to create an evaluation plan for reviewing emerging technologies

During the conference, Koreen will also be doing a presentation on Friday 11/13 at 11:15am which will be a discussion and debrief of the currently top secret Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that is being put together and will be run during DevLearn 2009. More details to come on the ARG...stay tuned.

Koreen Olbrish to Moderate Panel at 3D TLC

Koreen Olbrish, CEO of Tandem Learning, will be moderating a panel at 3D Training, Learning and Collaboration (3D TLC), taking place September 23-24th, 2009 in San Jose, CA. 3D TLC is the leading event for businesses seeking to understand and maximize business strategies using virtual worlds.

Koreen will be moderating the session titled Speed Sharing: Six Business Value Success Stories in 60 Minutes! This session will provide an overview of successful virtual world implementations and share the results of evaluations for those implementations.

Mike Malizola Joins Tandem Learning

Tandem Learning is pleased to announce that Mike Malizola has joined the team in the position of Director, Business Development. Mike has more than 12 years of business development experience primarily focused in the e-learning and software development industries.

At Tandem, Mike will be responsible for introducing Tandem's services to new industries as well as working closely with Tandem's strategic partners to create new business opportunities.

Tandem Invited to Present at LEEF Conference

Tandem is proud to announce that it has been asked to speak at The LEEF conference (Learning and Entertainment Evolution Forum) taking place June 18-19th at Harrisburg University in Harrisburg, PA.

"LEEF brings together learning leaders, entertainment developers, designers of leading-edge technologies, business decision makers, creative entrepreneurs and researchers who are focused on using emerging tools and solutions to improve performance and enhance learning."

Koreen Olbrish, CEO of Tandem, will be doing one of the two closing sessions on Friday the 19th.  Her topic, Learning Virtually: Select the Right Virtual World and Design the Right Experience will provide a vision for the future of learning in virtual worlds, a discussion of the opportunities and challenges of designing in this technology, and suggestions for what you can be doing now to prepare for the future.

Tandem to Speak and Exhibit at SPBT 2009

SPBT, set to take place in Chicago, May 11-14th, is an annual gathering of the who's who in teh world of pharmaceutical and biotech trainers.  At this years, conference, Tandem will be exhibiting for the first time and Koreen will be speaking with Filipe Duarte from Merck & Co. on the use of virtual worlds for pharmaceutical sales training.  If you plan to be at SPBT this year, come see us in booth #454 and don't miss Koreen's presentation on Wednesday the 13th at 9:15am.

Tandem Invited to Speak at Defense GameTech Users Conference

Marcus Hswe, Director of Client Services at Tandem Learning, will be speaking at The Defense GameTech Users Conference (www.simulationinformation.com/gametech09) held on March 9th-12th in Orlando at the International Plaza and Resort.

Marcus will be speaking on March 11th at 1pm on the subject of "Getting the Most from your Virtual World - Using Engaging Content."

Summary of Marcus' session:

As gradually more virtual world platforms enter the market place and organizations find it difficult to distinguish them, it becomes equally more apparent that the tools used to create these immersive environments apply to technological requirements and are less reliant on the basics of engaging learning. Instead of a focus on which platform to choose, the emphasis should be on developing an infrastructure for each learning initiative that is dependent on ongoing curriculum, a solid narrative guided by learning objectives, and metrics that reliably track the overall effectiveness of a virtual world. Since a world in any shape should endure, creating content that is relevant, interactive, and updatable allows that world life beyond its genesis.

Tandem Learning @ Training Magazine Conference
